Charleston County / Permit Intelligence / v 2.4

Jurisdictions
Twelve municipalities.
One instrument.
Charleston County isn't one review environment — it's twelve. Each municipality
has its own boards, its own ordinances, its own overlay districts, and its
own review culture. GeorgeSt is calibrated to all of them.
12 jurisdictions · fully indexed 1,669 decisions in the index Last refreshed · Apr 16, 2026 · 04:42 EST
Each jurisdiction below is fully indexed — we pull board decisions, staff
interpretations, and ordinance amendments as they're published. When a board
adopts a new material guideline or a zoning amendment passes second reading,
the index updates and existing pre-flights become re-runnable against the new
rules.

A project at 87 Tradd Street is a fundamentally different review than a project
on Rifle Range Road, even if they're 20 minutes apart. Charleston's peninsula
BAR-L district reads materials and muntin profiles differently than Mount
Pleasant's residential DRB. Folly Beach has flood considerations that don't
apply downtown. Kiawah runs its own ARB with its own precedent set.
National permit platforms treat all of this as one zip code. GeorgeSt treats
it as twelve separate review environments, each with its own calibration.
